Gas miser! Real gas sipper! Scion has outdone itself with this outstanding 2007 Scion tC. It just doesn't get any better or more fuel-efficient. This tC not only has plenty of zip, but also still manages to give you wonderful gas mileage. J.D. Power and Associates gave the 2007 tC 4 out of 5 Power Circles for Overall Initial Quality Design. This car is nicely equipped with features such as 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, 6 Speakers, ABS brakes, Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, Brake assist, Bumpers: body-color, CD player, Driver door bin, Driver vanity mirror, Dual front impact airbags, Four wheel independent suspension, Front anti-roll bar, Front Bucket Seats, Front Center Armrest w/Storage, Front Cupholders, Front reading lights, Front Sport Bucket Seats, Illuminated entry, Knee airbag, Low tire pressure warning, MP3 decoder, Outside temperature display, Panic alarm, Passenger door bin, Passenger vanity mirror, Pioneer AM/FM Stereo w/Single In-Dash CD, Power door mirrors, Power moonroof, Power steering, Power windows, Premium audio system, Rear anti-roll bar, Rear window defroster, Remote keyless entry, Speed control, Split folding rear seat, Steering wheel mounted audio controls, Tachometer, Tilt steering wheel, Turn signal indicator mirrors, and Variably intermittent wipers.
The Scion tC debuted in 2005 and is the first model designed exclusively for the Scion brand. For 2007, it continues to be powered by the 2.4L four-cylinder engine found in the Camry, and thanks to four-valves-per-cylinder and variable valve timing, the tC engine makes 161 horsepower and puts out 163 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and a four-speed automatic is available as an $800 option.
The tC's drivetrain is typical Toyota in its smoothness and refinement. Acceleration is sprightly and the four-wheel disc brakes with ABS offer plenty of stopping power. All of the tC's interior materials feel superior to the level of trim you'd typically find in this price class, and the standard equipment is pretty impressive too. Besides the power accessories we've now come to expect, the tC also has a glass moonroof, turn signals in the outside mirrors, and a decent sounding 160-watt AM/FM stereo with CD player. The rear seats are split 60/40, recline, and fold down to give you up to 8.5 feet in length of cargo space when you also fold the front passenger seat down.
The standard front air bags can be supplemented with optional driver and front passenger seat bolster side impact bags and overhead side curtain bags for both front and rear. It is also possible to add dozens of post production options to personalize your Scion.
A new Spec Package is available for 2007, and it is aimed at those who plan on customizing their Scion. It substitutes oft-replaced standard equipment from the tC with less expensive items.
