Ducati rebuilt the Multistrada V2 from the ground up for 2026, and this new one in Ducati Red is the base model at $16,995.
The old 937 cc Testastretta is gone. In its place is the new 890 cc V2, a 90-degree twin with intake variable valve timing that Ducati calls the lightest twin it has ever produced, at 120 lb. It makes 115 hp at 10,750 rpm and 67.9 lb-ft at 8,250 rpm, and a larger flywheel smooths out low-rpm running. The steel trellis frame is gone too, replaced by an aluminum monocoque, and the result is a bike that weighs 439 lb wet without fuel, roughly 40 lb lighter than the previous V2 S.
Because the new engine uses spring valves, the valve clearance check is now every 28,000 miles, up from 18,000 on the old Testastretta, with oil services at 9,000 miles or two years.
The base V2 runs a fully adjustable 45 mm mechanical fork and a monoshock with a remote preload adjuster, both with 6.7 inches of travel. Brakes are Brembo monobloc four-piston calipers on 320 mm discs with Bosch Cornering ABS. Riding modes are Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, and the new Wet mode, with Enduro and Wet capping output at 95 hp. Traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, an up/down quickshifter with the new gear-drum sensor, cruise control, full-LED lighting, and a USB port are standard. The 5-inch TFT offers Road, Road Pro, and Rally layouts.
Tank capacity is 5 gallons. Seat height is adjustable between 32.7 and 33.5 inches, with a low seat available.
If you've been waiting for a lighter, simpler Multistrada, this is it. It's at MotoCorsa in Portland now.
