Twenty-five thousand miles on a 2017 Multistrada 1200 S Touring tells you two things: it's been a reliable bike for somebody, and it's priced like one. This Ducati Red example is $9,990.
The 2017 model is the third-generation Multistrada 1200, powered by the 1,198 cc Testastretta DVT, an L-twin with variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust cams. Ducati rates it at 160 hp at 9,500 rpm with 136 Nm of torque, and the DVT system is what lets it pull cleanly from low revs and still sing at the top.
This generation was the first Multistrada with an inertial measurement unit, which enabled Cornering ABS, wheelie control, cornering lights, cruise control, and semi-active suspension. The S model gets Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evo semi-active damping, and the Touring designation refers to Ducati's factory pack, which on the 1200 S meant side panniers, heated grips, and a center stand. We'll confirm exactly what's fitted on this bike. Riding modes are Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro.
At this mileage the question on any Ducati is service history, and we'd rather show you than tell you. Ask us about what's been done and when the next valve check is due; on the DVT engine the interval is longer than older Ducatis, but it still matters.
A well-kept, higher-mileage 1200 S is one of the best values in the adventure-touring market, with a level of electronics and performance that newer bikes at this price can't match. It's at MotoCorsa in Portland, Oregon.
